Experiential Enneagram

May 19, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open.”

The Enneagram is an invaluable map of personality that explains 9 different styles of relating and being in the world. Each has a distinctly different way of perceiving and responding to life. When we know the patterns associated with our type, we can literally take leaps in our relationships and work. Being more attentive to our core patterning means that we get more focus to be more creative in our lives and get out of the way of our life force.

Each of the personality styles has a certain kind of hero’s journey to make and the Enneagram helps clarify what that is and also focuses our attention on what is most in the way of our continued growth, happiness, freedom and evolution. Essentially, it makes clear what our particular deficiency story is and how to loosen the grip we have on it so we can relate better with ourselves, others and all life.

We teach the Enneagram using a narrative frame, complementing theory with stories and experiences from representatives in the group. We are all live transmissions of the various personality styles so learning through direct experience of others helps us to tangibly grasp this incredible map of human experience.

This is a body based workshop meaning that we trust and follow the body. Our bodies carry the stories, they know where we belong if we learn listen to them. We have designed an experiential process that aims to give you knowledge of this map in the body, heart and mind.

The afternoon will include practical (and fun!) exercises that stimulate rich discussion and insight into your own habits of relating. If you don’t know your type, the process will help you explore all styles so that you can find resonances and narrow down options. If you do know your type, then this is an opportunity to dive deeper into your type and you may also want to bring specific relationship issues to work with.

This workshop will get you started on:
1. Improving your relationships in both personal and professional context.

2. Integrating soul and ego, knowing yourself more deeply and understanding the highs and lows of your personality.

3. Become more aware of stress triggers and how to more effectively diffuse stress responses.

what previous participants said:
“Attending an enlightening and exciting evening in Durban facilitated by Ryan and Leeane, and exploring the Enneagram with two people who have worked so intimately with this transformative system over a number of years, was an extremely fascinating and deeply personal journey into self and relationships with others. What a wonderful awakening! Exploring this in a group setting was immensely eye opening as each personality came alive. I cannot recommend this enough, thank you Ryan and Lee for an unforgettable introduction into this work, I am looking so forward to diving in deeper at your next much anticipated visit to Durban.”
